ANTI-CAPITALIST POEM

by Yasmeen Tajiddin

I STILL WANT THE MONEY

in the form of a house

with a banister and mauve trim

around the windows, framing

my loves barbecuing

bell peppers, watering

one another

& i know it’s

green to think we can

be rich enough to live

full    untouched by anything

but the pollen that releases itself

into the spring air    yes i know

i know

                             but i still want
