OUR STORY

Founded three years ago by Jane Link, bigblackbooks is the blog for black readers, writers, and publishers. We publish the content you deserve weekly, spotlight a trending genre every other month, and release annual issues putting emerging writers in conversation with the big voices.

EVERY MONTH

We publish the content you deserve weekly (think author essays, giveaways, interviews, opinion). We also spotlight a trending genre every other month. From American women’s self-help and young adult verse novels to Nigerian chick lit and British children’s classics, we’ve got range. This May is all about Popular Culture.

ONCE A YEAR

Our creative issues select promising emerging writers and put them in conversation with the big, established voices. If you are an emerging fiction, non-fiction, or other writer with few to no publications, or an established writer who would like to work with us, please get involved. Submissions for Issue Two are now open until 30 June.
